"The car is a piece of art!”

-Big Kenny, “Big & Rich”
I took a "bucket list" trip of driving the famous "Route 66", the historic roadway from Chicago to LA, immortalized in a 1940's song of that name by Nat King Cole.  My friend arranged to borrow a reproduction 1969 Shelby GT 500 Mustang convertible  — an iconic car driving on an equally iconic road and we drove all the way to the end of the route at the famous Santa Monica Pier.  Going through all the towns along the way was like stepping back in time to the 1950s, an adventure in all the diversity around this great country. I loved this trip and the car we drove so much that I had Duncan Brothers Customs build one for me! They did a magnificent job, and the car has been featured in various publications, shown at SEMA, placed second at Autorama, and had its own episode on the Big Kenny’s Crank It Up Garage TV show!  A car like this represents the importance of staying in tune to take on and navigate the adventures that life can bring.
